Accessibility

We want anyone who needs a veterinarian to be able to use this site, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or voice control.

The standard we build to

This site is built to target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. In practice that means:

• Every part of the site can be operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator that is never hidden behind the sticky header.
• Text meets contrast requirements, and nothing important is communicated by colour alone.
• Interactive targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels, comfortably above the 24 pixel minimum.
• Images carry meaningful alternative text; decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
• Forms use real labels, and errors are described in words rather than by colour.
• Anything that moves automatically can be paused, and all motion is reduced for anyone whose device requests that.
• Our forms are ordinary web forms, not PDFs to print and scan.

Where we know we are not there yet

We would rather say this than pretend. Some content on this site is still being confirmed and is marked as draft. Third-party tools we link to, such as our online pharmacy and client portal, are run by other companies and we do not control their accessibility.
