Out here, "just swing by the vet" can mean an hour of driving. Video visits mean your own veterinarian, not a stranger at a call center, can see your pet on camera for the things that don't need an exam table.

Good candidates for a video visit

• "Is this worth a drive?" triage, we'll tell you honestly
• Follow-ups after surgery or a new medication

What a video visit can't replace

California law sets real limits on virtual care, and they exist for good reasons. Some medications can only be prescribed after a hands-on exam, antibiotics started by video are limited to 14 days, and controlled medications always require an in-person visit. Anything that needs diagnostics, surgery, or vaccination happens in the clinic. When a video visit isn't enough, we'll already have your records, and an exam room waiting.
